Joel Rosier

Joel Rosier, Arzel Zoning

Presenters: Joel Rosier, Technical Service Specialist, Arzel Zoning

Often when installing HVAC zoning the questions come up about what to do with the ductwork. Do you oversize the ductwork? Do you need a bypass duct? How small is too small for a zone? In this educational session we’re going to focus on airflow, how zoning affects airflow, BTUH delivered, and how you can help to optimize comfort for customers in residential and light commercial applications.

We’ll take a quick look at how Arzel Zoning Dampers make it possible to install HVAC zoning where 24vac systems fall short. This promising solution to resolving comfort issues allows for ease of install while maximizing the existing ductwork a customer already has.

As innovation and technology continues to evolve at an ever-increasing speed our world has become more complex. During this informative breakout we will look at the humble beginnings of the residential HVAC business and observe how a simple concept of maintaining a comfortable temperature, humidity and overall indoor air quality has become far more nuanced and specialized.

This specialization and the level of expertise needed to perform each of these specializations has created many challenges for our industry. As 2023 approaches, our world may become more complex in terms of refrigerants, licensing, business expenses, efficiency, consumer demand and the technical and business skills needed to work within this industry. We will look at what is in store for the industry and why things are changing. We will conclude this session with our reasoning for the decisions we are making in preparation for 2023, and leave some time for questions and answers at the end.
