Jim Bergmann is an industry leader, technical expert, and innovator in heating and cooling technology. He founded measureQuick in 2015, now the leading diagnostic and commissioning app in the HVAC industry with over 100,000 users in the USA. Before this, he revitalized the HVAC program at Cuyahoga Valley Career Center in Ohio during his 12-year tenure as an instructor, transforming it into a nationally recognized platform.
Bergmann’s commitment to education includes tailoring methods for diverse student populations, including those from disadvantaged communities. He was one of the founders of TruTech Tools, a major supplier in the HVAC industry, and has been awarded several patents in HVAC technology.
He has served on national councils, developed inclusive curricula, and integrated digital tools to align training with industry standards. Bergmann’s collaborative approach with contractors, educators, and governing bodies ensures measureQuick remains a transformative force in the HVAC sector.

In this workshop, Charon McNabb from the National Carbon Monoxide Awareness Association (NCOAA) is teaming up with HVAC experts to brainstorm and prioritize solutions to break long‑standing roadblocks and improve CO safety across the industry.

Charon holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University. She spent 25 years in automotive development focused on new technology with General Motors, Denso, and Magna International. She also dealt directly with the National Highway Safety Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) driving new backup camera regulation that began in 2018. Ms. McNabb previously co-founded Global Advance Sales & Marketing, helping guide manufacturers and inventors through the automotive sales process, driving growth and profitability. She also founded NCOAA in 2015, after struggling with 11 years of chronic CO poisoning from 3 low-level home appliance leaks and was repeatedly misdiagnosed with TBI, COPD and early onset Alzheimer’s disease.

A self-described ‘Geek of all things HVAC and indoor comfort’, Eric’s approach to life is “be curious”. He joined the HVAC industry in 2004 as a residential service technician, and quickly learned there was a lot more to keeping people comfortable and healthy than meets the eye. Since then, he has held many positions, and now enjoys the role of Industry Engagement Manager for TruTech Tools, Ltd., where he helps to fulfill their vision of “Helping Technicians Create Better Environments for People.” Eric holds HVAC educator certifications from HVAC Excellence, sits on the Executive Committee of RSES, is a co-host of the Building HVAC Science podcast, and contributes to the HVAC/R and Building Performance industries in many other ways.
